SAAH (BREATH) (2006)

Synopsis:
This film begins with the lull and ironic clarity of death itself. A lady is on her death bed, we hear voices, conversations about her and sounds that emerge from her surroundings. Soon enough, the reality of the moment seamlessly merges with the voices in her head, again, removed by way of them being memories of experiences. The film tries to depict the coalescence of the public and private spaces, as perceived by the lady, as we narrate her state through the conversations in and around her. The only space that she could term her own or find refuge in is the middle of the night, when it’s absolutely silent. A Silence that is laced with the sound of ongoing traffic passing by the flyover next to her home. She takes solace in the lights entering her room from the flyover an extended public plane and this becomes a personal refuge in the limbo that she is about to attain, the streaming illumination from the windows intrudes her consciousness. The house that she has lived in, transcends physicality and dies with her.
